This is a frontier style bowie/fighter made from 3/16" D2 with an Alabama damascus guard and pommel. The Stag handle has the addition of a mild steel pin to strengthen the construction of this knife. The sheath is a vegetable tanned leather liner covered with deerskin rawhide. The rawhide is hand stitched with linen cord and cut copper tacks were also used to help secure the rawhide and welt. The throat is covered with beaver tail leather and the vegetable tanned leather belt loop has been carved and dyed. The buckskin fringe holds brass and glass beads as well as copper cones with horsehair. This combination was given a slightly aged look with light patina in places.
